We build flood
resilient communities.

What we’re all about.

Climate change is a real and present threat to the way we live our lives and we believe that the time for action is now. To continue building bigger and higher flood defences to protect our urbanised landscape is counter intuitive and counterproductive.

Calm Engineering was born from a desire to deliver a more sustainable nature-based approach to engineering problems. By taking a more holistic approach to the development of the built environment and the way we manage flood risk, Calm Engineering aims to develop a more sustainable future for communities by developing solutions that work with the natural environment instead of trying to bend it to our will.

Our Services

We deliver a diverse suite of services designed to provide targeted engineering solutions. These services can be categorised across four key areas which align directly with our core values.

Flood Risk
Management.

Our team brings years of experience to bear on the greatest challenge of our time. We are committed to bringing about positive changes to our relationship with water, and we do this with a proven track record of successes.

Sustainable Drainage.

We’ve got a wealth of experience working with a huge range of stakeholders when developing better SuDS design. This helps us deliver a consistent approach to implementation and long term maintenance of our newly created assets.

Project Management.

We create a shared sense of purpose with everyone we work with, including stakeholders, through a collaborative personal service coupled with integrity and professionalism.

Planning Support.

We’ve provided planning support to local planning authorities for a number of years and this has enhanced our ability to support developers and consultants on the delivery side. Our team is unique in that we can see both sides of the same coin for the benefit of a wider variety of clients.

Let’s grab a coffee and have a chat?

We’ve collaborated with many different industry specialists, local councils, drainage boards and national agencies and we’re always looking to expand our list of partners. To find out more or to have an informal conversation about how we might collaborate simply give us a call, we’d love to chat.
