Project Management.

Finding your balance.

Project Management is not simply about driving a project forward, it’s about understanding the needs of the Community and the multitude of stakeholders within it, then working with partner organisations to deliver a multitude of outcomes for the mutual benefit of all.

Since 2016 we’ve been a member of the Somerset Rivers Authority Technical Group, representing Mendip District Council, and managing the delivery of projects within the district through the support of the partnership. We’re also members of various Catchment Partnerships across the Somerset Region; building collaborative relationships across multiple organisations helps us bring real coordinated action to the issues within these catchments.

Don’t just take our word for it.

“CALM Engineering have been working, on behalf of Mendip District Council, as a key partner to help develop and deliver various partnership projects that are captured within the Bristol Avon Catchment Partnership (BACP) Action Plan. They have enabled flood risk management to be addressed in a collaborative approach with the aim to help deliver multiple-benefit outcomes for water management, water quality, biodiversity and amenity benefits. They continue to help with communicating the coordination of the Mendip Catchment Strategy and integrating this within the relevant plans, strategies and projects to address the environmental challenges that are being delivered through various partnership-led projects.”

“Calm Engineering’s advice, guidance and technical knowledge have allowed MDC to move forward with an ambitious flood risk management strategy and action plan to span the next 20 years. Calm are managing the delivery of this strategy on behalf of the local authority, ensuring increased resilience to flooding for the communities of Mendip; something which the authority could not have achieved on its own. Supported by their appetite to work with third parties to secure not only funding, but longer term benefits of joint working, Calm are now looking to new technologies and thinking to push Mendip District Council to implement different and often green ways of working for the benefit of the wider County.”
